  • Welcome to Perfection by Sofia! Join us in raising awareness about vitiligo and celebrating unique beauty.

  • I'm Sofia Morello, and I have vitiligo.

This means patches of my skin are whiter or lighter than my normal skin color. It started when I was four with a small pale spot, and over time, more patches appeared. My parents were worried and took me to doctors, which was confusing because I was too young to understand. But I learned that my patches had a name: vitiligo.

By the time I was six, my patches were more visible, and kids at school began to bully me. They called me names and told me not to touch them because they thought they could catch it. They didn't understand what vitiligo was.

My parents have always been supportive, and together, we decided to create a safe space for young people with vitiligo. This website is that space. It's a place to share my story, connect with others, and raise awareness. It's about seeing PERFECTION, not imperfection.

    Sofia's vitiligo is a gift
I'm Sofia's dad, and I now see her vitiligo as a gift that changes lives and attitudes. Sofia shows that having something that affects your appearance is just part of who you are. She's determined to help others do the same and has become a role model for kids with similar issues.

    Ignorance breeds fear
When Sofia's classmates taunted her, it was because they were ignorant about vitiligo. They didn't know any better and were scared. They wanted to protect themselves from something they didn't understand.

    Education brings awareness
When kids are educated about vitiligo, they understand. It's the same with adults who might look at Sofia with shock or pity. They see her appearance and not the perfection that is Sofia. Education helps people see the person, not the issue. It helps them see perfection.

That's the inspiration behind our logo, PERFECTION by Sofia. Join us in spreading awareness and celebrating the beauty of differences.
